Bowcock & Pursaill has appointed Heather Reynolds as the latest partner at the firm.
Having joined the team more than 14 years ago, Heather is the epitome of climbing the career ladder, starting out as Office Assistant.
Very quickly Heather became interested in training as a solicitor and started working her way up the ranks. She progressed to Receptionist first before becoming a Legal Secretary at the firm at 21 where she worked for Commercial Property Specialist, Tom Gregory and Residential Property Specialist, Emma Amat.
During her time as Legal Secretary, Heather enrolled at Staffordshire University to study law in the evenings. At the time, Heather said she would joke about being a senior partner one day. She commented: “It was a running joke in the office that I would be a senior partner, and now I’m one step closer to it.”
She added: “I worked full time at Bowcock & Pursaill whilst studying at Staffordshire University. I had a lot of support from the solicitors and partners, and naturally fell into property thanks to working with Tom and Emma.”
When Heather graduated she was immediately offered a Trainee Solicitor placement with Partners Tim Wolley, Catherine Whittles and Emma Amat. She qualified on 15 February 2016 and immediately joined the residential department as a Solicitor. Subsequently, she was offered the Associate position and has now fulfilled that role to become a Partner at the firm.
In addition to Heather’s day to day work, she provides support to the corporate department advising on the property aspects of company share sales and business asset sales.
Catherine Whittles commented: “I interviewed Heather and she’s come such a long way. We’re incredibly proud that we’ve been able to support her career development in such an extraordinary way and she thoroughly deserves the recognition of Partner. We’re all very confident she’s going to have a great impact for both her colleagues and clients.”
Heather specialises in both residential and commercial property and enjoys the variety of the work. She added: “I really hope to continue the good work I’m proud of at Bowcock & Pursaill. It’s a fantastic firm to work for and I am living proof that career progression is a priority here.”
Heather’s appointment coincides with the firm’s push to attract talented professionals back to the county.
The firm is planning to grow the team by 10% in 2024, enabling it to expand its portfolio of clients in the locale.
Catherine commented: “We’re a fantastic place to work and we’re looking for individuals that match our values and have aspirations to continue to develop their career.
“The ideal candidate will be driven, proactive and reliable but will also have a passion for the incredible county many of us call home.”
Partners at Bowcock & Pursaill are interested in speaking to candidates who may have worked in some of the larger surrounding cities such as Birmingham and Manchester, who want to bring their city experience to the countryside.
Catherine added: “We can’t stress enough that our solicitors have excellent opportunities at Bowcock & Pursaill and Heather is proof that you don’t have to go to London, Manchester or Birmingham to have fruitful careers.”
