Sponsorship helps Leek Cricket Club to thrive

Bowcock & Pursaill Solicitors are again proud sponsors of Leek Cricket Club which celebrates its 175th anniversary this year.

Visitors to the club located on the Macclesfield Road will now spot a Bowcock & Pursaill Solicitors sponsorship banner within the stunning grounds.

Chairman Brian Mellor approached Bowcock & Pursaill having done business with the firm for more than 20 years.

He said: “We’re a community-based club with three senior sides and nine junior teams, including an under eight’s, and obviously running a club of this size comes with considerable running costs.

Bowcock & Pursaill have supported us before by sponsoring our annual beer festival – one of our biggest fundraisers – and although we do as much fundraising as we can, without sponsors like Bowcock & Pursaill we wouldn’t be able to operate.

“We are extremely grateful for their support and the support we receive from local businesses in and around Leek.”

In addition to its long history, the Leek Cricket Club boasts 300 members and currently sits within the premier division.

Bowcock & Pursaill Associate solicitor, Tim Bailey, said: “Leek Cricket Club is an incredibly active part of the Leek community and we’re delighted to be able to support them again this year.

“They provide great opportunities for both children and adults to get involved in sport and we wish the club every success for the future.”
