Bowcock & Pursaill were again proud sponsors of the annual Rudyard Sailability Dragon Boat Race which took place at Rudyard Lake on Saturday July 6th.
This colourful action-packed event attracts teams from all over Staffordshire from companies to clubs. A maximum of 24 teams can take part, and all the money raised goes to the Rudyard Sailability Charity which relies on fundraising to keep the club running throughout the year.
This is the second year running that Bowcock & Pursaill solicitors have sponsored this hugely popular event, and partner Tim Wolley was on hand to present the very wet winners with their trophies.
He said: “The Dragon Boat Race is always a great success come rain or shine, and it was good to see so many people enjoying themselves.
“All the teams really enjoyed the racing and many have promised to return next year with additional teams, which is great news for this charity which provides unique sailing experiences for people living with disability.”
Rudyard Sailability club secretary, Jackie Griffiths, said: “The Dragon Boat Race is a unique opportunity for big-hearted people from all walks of life to come together to paddle it out for fun, excitement and victory whilst doing something wonderful.
“Each splash provides vital funds to ensure that Rudyard Sailability can continue to deliver sailing and water-based activities for all ages who live with any type of disability.
“We are thrilled to have Bowcock & Pursaill on board as they have been great supporters of our journey so far with their sponsorship of this essential event.
“Once all the sponsorship has been collected in from this year’s event hopefully we will have raised £4,000, which is just brilliant.”
