Living Wills
A Living Will is a document which sets out your wishes regarding future health care and in particular can provide for the refusal of treatment where a person is no longer capable of making or communicating their wishes to the medical profession.
Although decisions concerning this can be made by a Welfare Attorney under a Lasting Power of Attorney, you may prefer that you give instructions directly to a Medical Practitioner in which case a Living Will is appropriate. We normally advise that you discuss the matter with your GP before making a Living Will, so that you can be informed of available treatments and medical practices which may change from time to time.
Once you have signed a Living Will, it can of course be cancelled at any time while you are still able to give instructions to do so.
