Lasting Powers Of Attorney

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a document whereby you can appoint one or more persons to act on your behalf and make decisions for you.   They are normally, but not exclusively, used where you become unable through old age or mental incapacity to look after your affairs.   With the population living longer they become more and more relevant.    An LPA is not just for the elderly, because anyone could have an accident, which would render them unable to look after their affairs.    With an LPA decisions can be made about your property and affairs and also your personal welfare and medical matters.

We will tell you what information we require to prepare the LPA.   The LPA can be in favour of a relative, friend or sometimes a member of Bowcock & Pursaill is appointed.  The LPA has to be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian and there is a fee payable to the Office for that.
